I still don't know if Humber was selling lot of bicycles , but fact is that Thomas Humber was a real inventor. He constantly introduced new bicycles and many smaller makers followed his lead.
This rare 1889 Humber no. 5 light roadster was top of the line in 1889. If you read the text in the 1889 catalogue, they were really pround of this ingenious model. But only one year later, Humber was the first to introduce the diamond frame with straight saddle tube: the frame that ended al experimental models.
This wonderful bicycle, even with the remains of the head badge, is in the collection of the Velorama museum, alhough it is not exposed for public at the moment. Serial number is 15957.
